What a summer, eh? May the heat not be wrecking your beers - remember, all of those staling processes move a lot faster at higher temps, so keep your beer in a cool place, preferably a fridge!

As we all march towards fall, check out the updated EPHY stats, and start getting ready for the THIRD annual SCH Amateur Brewing Championships! We expect another great year, and we welcome your best beers (or the bad ones you'd like some objective feedback for).

SCH is committed to sharing the pleasures of homebrewing with brewers and non-brewers alike. For brewers, we offer a collection of battle-tested and award-winning recipes (extract and all-grain), tasting and evaluation by BJCP-approved judges, brewing and beer education, and social events for brewers and families alike. For non-brewers, we offer all of that in a slightly more tipsy state as you become unofficial “tasters” for the homebrewed awesomeness produced by our members. Our monthly meetings are held at the General Lafayette Inn & Brewery on the third Thursday of every month, and serve as a great night out in addition to being educational and entertaining.

For the competitive, we host an annual competition (Stoney Creek Homebrewers Amateur Brewing Championship), administer the Eastern Pa. Homebrewer of the Year (EPHY) competition, and are active participants in AHA Club-Only Competitions. For those in it for the artistic and culinary adventure, our specialty brewers have produced a number of award-winning concoctions (Peppermint Stout or Triple Berry Bock, anyone?), and are on hand to offer advice on how to make that Taco Vienna Lager you dream about…
